  • Research papers
  • Teaching cases
  • Panel proposals

The sudden demonetization drive in the Indian economy caught the entire banking and financial system unawares. The Indian banking system – already facing problems in meeting BASEL-III Norms (due to excess NPA) – was suddenly flooded with excess capital. The growing focus on digital payments has firmly bought the issues related to cyber-security and cyber-fraud into focus. It has forced regulatory bodies like RBI, SEBI and IRDA to take a more proactive approach.

On the other hand, inflows and outflows in the Indian capital and forex markets have become volatile and uncertain. The structural shock faced by the Indian banking and financial system is unprecedented in history. New modes, new issues and new paradigms now face the BFSI sector in India. The conference -aims at bringing scholars together to deliberate on these issues and to share their existing work in the following areas: contemporary issues in banking; emerging trends in finance, technology in banking & financial services; marketing and banking; legal and regulatory framework; financial analytics; HR and related issues.

ISBE 2017

8-9 November 2017
Belfast, UK

Key dates:

  • Abstract submissions window 6-31 March 2017

The Case Centre is exhibiting at this conference. Come and find out what we can do for you.

‘Borders, Prosperity and Entrepreneurial Responses’ is the conference theme. Since 1977, the year ISBE was launched, there have been numerous changes in the world, with borders, physical and intangible, easing and even falling completely. ‘Borders’ remain in people’s minds, for minority groups, for women and for those from poorer backgrounds, to mention a few. How might small to medium-sized businesses continue to thrive if access to opportunities is being continually constrained because of ‘bordered’ thinking? Change in response to such thinking requires a strong entrepreneurial response in how we do business, now and in the future.
