The Case Centre Connect Issue 09

Dear colleague

Welcome to the April issue of Connect!

We’re sure you will be as impressed as we are by the winner of our Innovation in Case Teaching Competition, Nicole Haggerty, of Ivey Business School. Read about her inspirational project that enables Ivey Business School students to teach their peers in African business schools using the case method.

This issue also features the winners of our ‘Hot Topic’ and ‘New Case Writer’ competitions. The first, by Urs Müller and Shirish Pandit, explores the dilemma faced by Vodafone during the recent civil unrest in Egypt, and the second, by Hernán Bruno and Hilke Plassman, details a cookie company’s recipe for success in a highly competitive market.

Kamran Kashani’s case, Value Selling at SKF Service (A), won The Case Centre’s Overall Award this year. We asked Kamran for the secret of his success!

Finally, in the first of a two-part series, we explore the MOOCs phenomenon.

Best wishes
The Case Centre team
