Wednesday 25 September 2024 Fontainebleau, France
The Case Centre visited INSEAD’s Europe Campus in Fontainebleau on Wednesday 25 September, to present the 2024 Economics, Politics and Business Environment and Marketing Case Awards to the quartet of winners.
Lucie Tepla, Lisa Simone Duke, David Dubois and Jean-Michel Moslonka received their awards from The Case Centre’s CEO, Vicky Lester, in the presence of INSEAD Dean Francisco Veloso, along with members of the INSEAD faculty and staff.
With three new awards this year, INSEAD has now won a total of 101 awards since their first in 1991, making them the first school to surpass the milestone of 100 Case Awards.
Lucie and Lisa were recognised in the Economics, Politics and Business Environment category for their case, Does Sustainability Pay? Barry Callebaut's Sustainability Improvement Loan.
David and Jean-Michel took home the Marketing award for their case, Digitally-powered Customer-centricity in the Industrial Gas Sector: The Air Liquide-Airgas Merger. They were delighted to have case protagonist Philippe Martinez of Air Liquide join them at the presentation.
The third award went to Guoli Chen for his case, SHEIN vs Zara: Digital Transformation in the Fast-fashion Industry, co-authored with Shuqing Luo of HKU Business School. Unfortunately, Guoli was unable to attend the ceremony.
Dean Veloso remarked at the ceremony: “Surpassing 100 Case Awards is a significant milestone that speaks to INSEAD’s deep engagement with case writing and the success we’ve achieved.
“We began writing cases in the 1970s to support our teaching, and over the years, our cases have drawn on the school’s strong academic foundations to enrich the learning experience.
“In 2023/24, we produced 73 cases, which is a testament to the productivity of our faculty and Case Publishing Team.
“My sincere congratulations to Lucie, Lisa, David, Jean-Michel, and Guoli for their fantastic achievements.”
Vicky Lester added: “It’s a pleasure to celebrate INSEAD reaching 101 Case Awards, the first school to do so, far ahead of others. It’s a fantastic achievement by the entire team, and we extend our warmest congratulations for the impact they are making in shaping future leaders worldwide. It’s truly remarkable.
“And of course, a big congratulations to Lucie, Lisa, David, Jean-Michel, and Guoli on their individual successes.”
