About Esade Entrepreneurship Institute (EEI)
The EEI is a leading reference for entrepreneurship in Europe. The Esade Entrepreneurship Institute (EEI) is dedicated to academic excellence in the broad field of entrepreneurship through research, teaching, new venture ideation and creation and outreach activities.
Esade positions itself as an international reference in the field of entrepreneurship through a rigorous research programme, an award-winning educational model, an active presence in the social debate and project support for entrepreneurs, to enhance the progress of society.
Founded as the Center for Entrepreneurship in 1992, its main purpose was to support students from Esade in developing and launching new businesses. In the last decade, the EEI has evolved into an institute where research and cutting-edge training play a fundamental role.
About the collection
The Esade Entrepreneurship Institute (EEI) develops decision-focused teaching cases drawn from real-life challenges faced by entrepreneurs with a global outlook.
The case protagonists, many of them alumni of Esade Business School, have been exceptionally engaged with the case-development process, adding great value to the collection.
The cases accurately reflect the reality, emotions and dilemmas confronted by entrepreneurs. Students are immediately hooked, class discussions are rich and the learning process is effective, as carefully designed discussion plans and other specific tools, which are presented in the corresponding teaching notes, support the cases.
In addition, Esade's location in Barcelona, one of Europe’s most dynamic and start-up friendly cities, triggers entrepreneurial ventures across a variety of economic sectors. As a result, EEI’s collection covers a wide range of entrepreneurship-related topics in various sectors – including software technology, Internet, biotechnology, social entrepreneurship and industry – with an international scope.
The EEI provides funds for the development of the EEI case collection thanks to the Santander Universidades’ endowment.
