Abstract

This is part of a case series. The objective of the Vodafone Italy case study is to stimulate a reflection on organizational and HRM problems resulting from a period of market crisis, restructuring with significant redundancies and changes in the company's strategy in the face of shifting competition and consumption scenarios. Starting from 2011, Vodafone Italy balance sheet suffers heavily as a consequence of the crisis that began in 2008 with the bursting of the subprime mortgage bubble. The overall scenario of the TLC industry, in which the relaunch of Vodafone Italy is inserted, has profoundly changed in terms of customer evolution, diffusion of broadband and new ways of use of communication tools, consumption dynamics and new competitors, the so-called over-the-top.
