The Case Centre’s bestselling authors
Our 40th anniversary celebrations continue with a spotlight on some of our bestselling authors over the past four decades. What is their approach to case writing? How do they inspire students? And why do they believe so passionately in the case method?
Our interviews with these leading authors reveal some fascinating insights into the case method and case writing. Find out why recently retired Harvard Professor, Michael J. Roberts, compares a good case with a famous line of poetry by William Blake; why everyone thought Sandra Vandermerwe was ‘mad’ to write what is now one of her favourite cases; and why Karel Cool teaches only his own cases – and now takes as long, if not longer, to write them as he did a decade ago.
The bestselling writers featured here represent a wide range of schools, demonstrating the continued and growing popularity of the case method worldwide.
Our alphabetical list of bestsellers includes the highly influential and inspirational teacher and case writer, Sumantra Ghoshal, who died in 2004. The Economist noted in its obituary the loss of ‘a prolific and creative writer’. Before his death, he spoke about the importance of having the ability to inspire others; our bestselling authors continue to do just that.
