We have invited a prestigious panel of international case method experts to share their knowledge and experience at our celebratory conference. They will be providing a programme of training, seminars, Q&A sessions and informal moderation and feedback throughout our two-day event. Nirmalya Kumar: gala dinner keynote speaker
We’re proud to announce that Nirmalya Kumar is to give the keynote speech at The Case Centre’s Anniversary Conference gala dinner.

Nirmalya, who is Professor of Marketing at London Business School and a Member of the Group Executive Council for Tata Sons, will also receive The Case Centre’s prestigious Outstanding Contribution to the Case Method Award at the event, to be held 8-9 September 2014, at IIMB, Bangalore, India.

An outstanding case writer, Nirmalya’s case, easyJet: The Web’s Favourite Airline, written with Brian Rogers, is The Case Centre’s all-time bestseller. Medi-Cult: Pricing a Radical Innovation, again written with Brian Rogers, and Red Bull: the Anti-Brand Brand(written with Nader Tavassoli, and Sophie Linguri Coughlan) are also among the all-time top 40 bestsellers.

Scott Andrews

Scott Andrews
Scott Andrews is based at Cardiff University's Centre for Lifelong Learning, UK and is an Associate Lecturer on the MBA programme at the Open University Business School, UK. Scott particularly focuses on international marketing and organisational strategy, and has worked with numerous organisations including the World Bank, Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, World Health Organisation, Wales Audit Office, Thai Institute of Directors and the Church of England.

His use of the case method has been incorporated into programmes in Central and Eastern Europe. A keen case writer, Scott runs an educational training consultancy practice and has many years' experience of delivering case teaching and writing workshops to private and public sector, academic and corporate clients from across Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia, including India.

Nagendra V Chowdary

Nagendra V Chowdary
Dr Nagendra V Chowdary is the Vice President & Head – Academics at Times Centre for Learning Limited, Times of India Group, India. He has over 20 years’ teaching and research experience and has been closely involved in the start-up and development of a wide variety of educational institutions, including ENPC at the India Campus in Cochin (executive education), Sri Ramakrishna Post Graduate College, Nandyal (higher education), the IBS Case Development Centre and The World’s First Institute of Customer Experience Management, Aegis Global Academy.

Nagendra has been a committed user of cases over the past two decades as well as a case writer, case editor and case tester for faculty colleagues. He is also a pedagogical innovator, introducing Executive Brief and Structured Assignments while at the IBS Case Development Centre (, and Case Flyers and Case Brief. He has also been a Consulting Editor on The Effective Executive, and for IUP Publications. He has edited nearly 30 books on four key themes: corporate governance, Indian economic reforms, world-class companies and monetary and fiscal policies.

Mathew J Manimala

Mathew J Manimala
Mathew J Manimala is a Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Chairperson of the Organisational Behaviour & Human Resource Area at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), India. Currently, he is also a Senior Enterprise Fellow at Essex Business School, University of Essex, UK, and Chairman of the ICIER-India Trust, part of ICIER, the International Consortium for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research. ICIER is a research and consultancy network of institutions in Europe and BRIC countries.

Professor Manimala gained his doctoral degree (Fellow in Management) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), India. His thesis on ‘Entrepreneurial Heuristics’ was completed using the case survey method and he was awarded a Certificate of Distinction for Outstanding Research in the Field of New Enterprise Development (Heizer Award) by the Academy of Management. He is also Editor of the South Asian Journal of Management.

Richard McCracken

Richard McCracken
Richard is The Case Centre’s Director and a worldwide ambassador for the case method. He regularly represents the international case community at conferences, workshops and competitions across the globe and sits on the judging panels for The Case Centre’s annual case method awards and competitions. He also helps to judge the EFMD case writing competition and has previously judged the African Association of Business Schools competition. Richard is a trustee of the British Universities Film and Video Council (BUFVC).

Before joining The Case Centre, Richard was Head of Intellectual Property at the Open University (OU) where he was instrumental in the development and launch of the OpenLearn initiative to make the OU’s educational resources freely available worldwide via the Internet. He is co-author of Buying and Clearing Rights, the first book to consider the difficulties of rights clearances in all forms of media. 

Trevor Williamson

Trevor Williamson
Trevor Williamson is a Principal Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School, UK, where he oversees the development of programmes in financial services and planning at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He previously held several senior management positions in banking and finance.

Trevor has been writing and teaching with cases for many years and has been one of The Case Centre’s tutors since 1999. He was a participant in the International Teachers Programme at London Business School, UK, and recipient of The Case Centre’s Philip Law case writing scholarship which resulted in his bestselling case, JD Hall & Sons. Trevor has participated in two ESF Leonardo da Vinci - Innovation in Teaching projects, working with academics at leading business schools in Lithuania, Estonia and Poland who were new to case writing and teaching. He has also run a number of case method workshops in India.
