A special event was held at GSEM Geneva School of Economics and Management to present The Case Centre’s Ethics and Social Responsibility Award to Susan Schneider and Anca Pintilii.

Susan and Anca won the award for their case, CSR and the Tobacco Industry: A Contradiction in Terms? which explores how sensitive and controversial industries, such as tobacco, can truly engage in corporate social responsibility.

The award was presented by The Case Centre’s Director, Richard McCracken, following an introductory welcome speech by the Dean of GSEM, Professor Maria-Pia Victoria-Feser.

Susan was a full professor at GSEM for 18 years and developed a course in Business in Society and Cross Cultural Management. Anca was Susan’s masters student and the case was based on her thesis research.

Following the official presentation, which took place in front of friends and colleagues, a celebratory drinks reception was held.
