Elin Williams, one of the co-authors of award winning case Ricardo Semler: A Revolutionary Model of Leadership, attended a presentation ceremony held as part of the alumni weekend at INSEAD. She received a trophy from The Case Centre’s Director, Richard McCracken.

Her winning co-authors, William W. Maddux and Roderick I. Swaab, also from INSEAD, and Betania Tanure, from BTA/Pontificia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (PUCMG), will also receive trophies to mark their success in the Human Resource Management/Organisational Behaviour category of The Case Centre’s annual awards.

Inspirational figure

The case focuses on Ricardo Semler, who the authors describe as ‘one of the most inspirational figures in the business world with a truly amazing story’. The authors believe that there is something about his personality and leadership style that resonates at a very deep level with most people, even if they are highly sceptical.

The presentation ceremony was attended by the Director of The Case Centre, Richard McCracken, who said: ‘As the awards are based on adoption levels at different schools around the world we see them as a true measure of peer approval. I’m delighted to recognise not just the quality of the winning authors, but also the strength of the case publishing team and the culture here at INSEAD.

‘These cases perform a really important function in linking world-leading research with impactful teaching in the classroom. In addition, the cases travel and bring INSEAD's brand to schools around the world.’

The event was also attended by INSEAD’s Dean, Ilian Mihov, who said how proud he was to celebrate the achievement of the award winners.
