The Case Centre Awards 2017
Kasra Ferdows presented with Production and Operations Management category award
L-R: Eric Aldrich, Paul Almeida and Kasra Ferdows |
Professor Kasra Ferdows, Heisley Family Chair of Global Manufacturing, received the Production and Operations Management category award at a special presentation on 17 August 2017 at McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University.
The presentation was made by Eric Aldrich, General Manager of The Case Centre’s US office, and Paul Almeida, Dean and William R. Berkley Chair at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
Kasra co-authored the winning case, Zara: The World’s Largest Fashion Retailer, with Jose A.D. Machuca of Universidad de Sevilla and Michael Lewis of The University of Bath School of Management. The case follows the events in the company since the author’s last case on Zara that was published in 2003.
Having interviewed senior managers and observed Zara’s operations the authors think that there is still a lot to learn from the company. They are curious to see how Zara continues to develop, and regardless of how its operating model might change, believe it would be interesting to report on it in another case.
