Antwerp Management School’s (AMS) Jamie Anderson spoke of his ‘satisfaction’ at the Nespresso: What next? case being used by fellow educators and students around the world, when presented with his Case Awards 2017 trophy in Belgium on 7 December 2017.

Jamie, alongside co-authors Nader Tavassoli and Mark Collins, produced a compelling case on the launch of Nestlé’s Nescafé Dolce Gusto mid-market single-serve coffee brand, and the competition the company’s high-end product Nespresso faced.

Nespresso podsRichard McCracken, The Case Centre Director, who attended Antwerp’s Alumnae drinks reception to present Jamie with the Strategy and General Management category prize, was taken aback by the excellence of the case and the teaching note.

“I re-read the case before tonight’s presentation (7 December) and I was again struck by the quality of the writing and the research,” said Richard.

Jamie Anderson “The case has a very authoritative tone to it, it’s clearly very well written and even more valuable is the quality of the teaching note, which has attracted many teachers, across the globe, to the case. It’s such a quality case all-round, so a special congratulations must go to Jamie."

Writing cases for nearly 15 years, Jamie, Adjunct Professor of Strategic Management at AMS, is delighted that his case has proved so popular in classrooms around the world.

He added: “It’s really exciting to have my case used in so many universities and business schools in different countries, but what I’m happiest about is the fact that it’s a fun and engaging case, so it gives me satisfaction that students and instructors are enjoying the case just as much as I do when using it in the classroom.”
