Kellogg School of Management’s Alvaro Sandroni, E.D. Professor in Political Economy, was presented with the Outstanding New Case Writer 2018 Case Award in Illinois last month (Tuesday 17 July).

Alvaro, along with Farhad Aspy Fatakia, won the award for their case, Kirat Housing Development Society, which looks at a fictional business negotiation where corruption is involved.

The Case Centre US General Manager Eric Aldrich travelled to Kellogg – on the outskirts of Chicago – to present the award to Alvaro at an MBA class where he was teaching the winning case.

“At The Case Centre we are proud to recognise and support the fantastic work case writers carry out, and these awards are a great way of doing that,” said Eric.

“Alvaro is a truly deserving winner of the Outstanding New Case Writer competition, and The Case Centre is delighted to present him with the award.”

Eric added: “In management education, the case method has such an important role to play.

“The case method helps students to think critically, to communicate, and to respect other opinions.”

Eric and Alvaro were joined by students and faculty staff at the presentation.
