Alt textThe Case Centre’s Tricia Haskell travelled to BYU Marriott School of Business last month in May (24) to present the Case Awards 2018 Strategy and General Management prize to Jeff Dyer.

Jeff, along with INSEAD’s Nathan Furr, won the category with their case Tesla Motors: Disrupting the Auto Industry?,which investigates whether the electric car company can ever return a profit.

During the case writing process, Jeff and Nathan spoke to the Tesla senior management team, which included an interview with the company’s high-profile CEO Elon Musk.

“I am delighted to receive this award and that Nathan and I have been recognised in this way,” said Jeff, Horace Beesley Professor of Strategy.

“The most satisfying thing is that this case has reached so many students and organisations around the world, and it’s had some sort of impact on them.”

A distinguished strategy scholar, Jeff has won a number of honours during his 25-year career, including being recently ranked #1 on a list of most impactful management scholars in the world (based upon citations and Google searches) among those who received their PhDs after 1991.
