INSEAD case authors sweep up at Awards

Three 2018 Case Awards were presented to five INSEAD professors at the School’s Europe Campus in Fontainebleau on Tuesday (5 June).

Pierre Chandon, Noah Askin, Gianpiero Petriglieri, Joerg Niessing and David Dubois all received their prizes before faculty and support staff from The Case Centre’s Deputy Director, Vicky Lester, in front of INSEAD faculty and support staff.

Laurence“It is a great honour for INSEAD to have so many faculty recognised by a prestigious organisation like The Case Centre,” said Laurence Capron, Dean of Faculty (pictured).

“This shows the strength in depth of the teaching and writing talent at INSEAD.

“The case method is instrumental to the way we teach our students at INSEAD, and these awards underline the fantastic work our teachers do in the classroom.”

Vicky Lester went on to highlight INSEAD’s success at the awards: “Over the 27 years that we have been presenting these awards, INSEAD have received 87 – 32% of the total. What a great achievement.”

PierreRenowned case teacher and author Pierre (pictured with Vicky) won the Outstanding Case Teacher competition, as voted for by the students, to add to his 2016 Outstanding Contribution to the Case Method Award and multiple other case awards.

Pierre said: “I am very proud of winning the Outstanding Case Teacher Award, as the support of my colleagues and students made this possible.”

Gianpiero-Noah-VickyNoah and Gianpiero (pictured with Vicky) won the Human Resource Management/Organisational Behaviour category with their case on Tony Hsieh at Zappos: Structure Culture and Radical Change.

David-GeoffrayMaugin-Vicky-JoergAnother duo bagged the Marketing prize, as David Dubois and Joerg Niessing’s (pictured with Vicky) case on AccorHotels and the Digital Transformation: Enriching Experiences through Content Strategies along the Customer Journey won out. David and Joerg were delighted to welcome Geoffray Maugin, SVP Global Guest Experience & Business Performance (Luxury Brands) at AccorHotels, to the presentation.
