Francisco SzekelyFrancisco led a community session for faculty and staff, where he discussed his winning case Patagonia’s Sustainability Strategy: Don’t Buy Our Products, with Vicky presenting the award at the end of the talk.

“I am very honoured to receive another award from The Case Centre, and to know that through this award our ideas about business sustainability are being shared with many other fellow faculty and students around the world,” said Francisco.

“This is particularly important today in which business must step up its commitment to build a sustainable society.”

Francisco wrote the case alongside Zahir Dossa, who was a postdoctoral research fellow at IMD, and is now CEO of Function of Beauty.

The casefocuses on the clothing label’s sustainability mission, and their plea to consumers to only buy the amount of clothes they need. Amazingly, Patagonia’s sales increased by 30%.
