Abstract

This is part of a case series. The case is about the beginnings of a social entrepreneurial initiative that aims at using mural art in processes of community building in traditional immigrant city suburbs. The reader can follow the process from the origin of the idea in similar initiatives in San Francisco, to the translation of that idea into the Swedish context, engaging partners, finding funds and carrying out a first pilot project. The case stops at the moment when the initiative has to decide whether to start up a civil society organization or continue operating under the umbrella of the Red Cross.
