In 2007, a new management team at Desso committed the company to Cradle to Cradle(R). This required fundamental change in all aspects of the business including in what raw materials went into the Desso products as well as in the operating systems and processes of Desso suppliers. This case focuses on supply chain implications and how these were addressed. The case study is intended for use in postgraduate courses such as MBA programmes (modules on Supply Chain & Logistics, Sustainability, Business Transformation), specialist MSc courses in Supply Chain & Logistics; and in executive programmes to explore the roles and responsibility of businesses in the promotion of sustainable development from an environmental and social perspective.
