Abstract

This is the second of a four-case series (408-115-1, 908-025-1, 308-343-1 and 608-037-1). This case is about communication and the integration of corporate values in merging organisations. The main issue is how to engage employees into the new organisational reality. To solve this case satisfactorily students should take a more holistic view of the organisation than just to consider communication as something coming from the communications department. Employees are influenced from a number of different sources, such as colleagues, managers, corporate communications and external perceptions.
