Making Cities Slum-Free: Paradoxes in Urban Planning and Policies

Amit Patel

‘I am very thankful to The Case Centre for creating such a wonderful opportunity to support first time case writers, and I am honoured to receive a scholarship for writing my first case on the important global issue of slums,’ says Amit.

‘I firmly believe that the case method of teaching is as useful for public policy professionals as it is in management. Policymakers make their decisions in the face of uncertainties and often without adequate data. This scholarship will help me to develop one of the pioneering cases in the field of public policy and allow me to fulfil my long-term goal of making the case method of teaching popular in teaching public policy courses.

‘The scholarship will provide me with the required resources to collect data but more importantly, will facilitate me to seek guidance and feedback from the expert case writers. As a first-time case writer, this scholarship means a lot to me. Thank you to everyone at The Case Centre for the encouragement and support!’
