Case Writing Scholarships: terms and conditions

You must:

  • be an unpublished case writer (two or more authors can apply together, but all applicants must be unpublished case writers*)
  • be faculty or a PhD student with teaching responsibilities
  • submit the first draft of your case within eight months of being awarded a scholarship (if the draft is not submitted within this time frame the scholarship will be revoked)
  • submit your final case and teaching note within 12 months of being awarded a scholarship (if the applicant is not able to meet this deadline the scholarship may be withdrawn).
*Two or more case writers will share the scholarship payment.

You will:

  • have the option to attend a case writing workshop (recommended but not compulsory)*
  • receive half of your scholarship payment when your first draft is complete and submitted to The Case Centre
  • receive your final payment when we receive your completed case and teaching note.
* The scholarship package includes a place for one person only on a case writing workshop. The free workshop place does not include travel, accommodation or subsistence. In the case of team applications, additional writers must pay the workshop fee if they wish to attend.

Please note

  • Do not submit your case and teaching note to us until they are complete.
  • Your case cannot be limited for use in a particular country or countries – once submitted to our collection it will be available worldwide with no exceptions. 

We will:

  • share your entire application form (as submitted when applying for the scholarshp) with members of our Executive Committee for review purposes. If your scholarship application is successful your contact details will also be shared with your allocated academic reviewer/s.
  • reserve the right to contact your case writing supervisor about your application and case
  • include The Case Centre’s branding and scholarship information on your finished case and teaching note
  • register you and any co-authors on The Case Centre's database of contacts if you have not already done so. You can opt out from mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link provided in all emails.

If you are unsuccessful:

  • you can apply twice more with the same case at the next two submission deadlines.
