The Case Centre Connect Issue 34, Summer 2018

Dear colleague

Welcome to the Summer issue of Connect!

First up in this edition’s collection of featured cases, African Bank Investment Ltd is in trouble when its clients stand to lose a lot of money after an investment goes wrong.

The men’s grooming industry is highlighted in the second featured case, as the Dollar Shave Club is the subject of a $1billion takeover by Unilever.

We then look at the hit drama series Game of Thrones, and the role social media played in making the show popular with millions across the globe.

In our final featured case, Zara is trying to expand into India and China, while also growing its online presence.

In this issue's features we profile our new Interactive Study Guide for students, look at laying the foundations to teach with cases, and talk to Wim Vanhaverbeke, Professor of Strategy & Innovation Management at Hasselt University, in '5 minutes with...'.

Best wishes
The Case Centre team
