The Case Centre Connect Issue 48, November 2020
padding

Dear colleague

Welcome to the November issue of Connect!

As we come towards the end of a year that has been dominated by COVID-19, we’ve selected four excellent cases that investigate different aspects of the pandemic.

First of all, Domino’s Pizza’s ‘contactless’ delivery initiative appears to be a masterstroke, as the company deals with the social distancing measures.

Next up, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern tackles her country’s response to COVID-19 with a popular leadership style.

In the final two cases, the mental health of health care providers (and the effect of COVID-19) and the overnight sensation of Zoom are looked at.

Elsewhere, we profile the launch of the first issue of Case Focus, and reflect on the key takeaways from our recent webinar: A Student Guide to Getting Started with Cases.

We’re also pleased to introduce Angela Lee as the latest ‘5 minutes with…’ participant. She discusses why she loves cases, and how to prepare for an online teaching class.

Stay safe and healthy!

“The most beneficial part of the case method is that students are learning so much more than just the functional topic they believe they are studying.” – Ian Dunn, Ivey Business School. See more.

“Good cases go beyond the original issue that you want to illustrate, to more subtle discussions that open new perspectives that participants did not consider.” – Antonio Dávila, IESE Business School. Read more.
