Dear colleague
Welcome to the April issue of Connect!
In this issue's features we explore how cases are supporting business schools in their drive to address issues of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in the classroom, and share the results of the online case teaching survey undertaken as part of #WorldCaseTeachingDay 2021.
Our featured cases begin with an in-depth look at German beauty product retailer, Douglas, and the importance of digital transformation to their future.
The second follows the CEO of an American cloud hosting provider and the difficult decisions he has to make.
The third and fourth featured cases profile an automotive franchising company trying to break a difficult Brazilian market, and an online fashion entrepreneur weighing up whether to carry on with her business that she’s struggling to get off the ground.
Finally, 2021 Outstanding Case Teaching Competition winner Mats Urde takes the ‘5 minutes with…’ hotseat.
Stay safe and healthy!

A selection of webinars, led by case method experts, relating to online case teaching and students getting started with case studies, are available to watch back for free on our website. Watch here. |
|
“Unlike most lecturing, the case method actually engages students. Engaged students learn more, and better hone their critical thinking skills.” – Paul Beamish, Ivey Business School. Read more. |
|
“A good case should always be built around an intriguing narrative. It should be as objective as possible in order to allow students to form their own opinions on the challenges or decisions the case presents.” – Cate Reavis, MIT Sloan School of Management. See more. |

Check out the Braun Ink case collection, a small, growing suite of books (True Business Adventure Tales), comic books cases, and conversation cards (BizBios) that intimately acquaint business enthusiasts with leaders across industries and geographies. Find out more. |
