SMU is deeply committed to the case method, and a dedicated team of case writers at its Centre for Management Practice (CMP) works with faculty to produce teaching cases. These cases are designed to suit a diverse range of learners, from college undergraduates to senior company executives. SMU’s case writing is held in high regard. SMU is ranked #16 on The Case Centre Impact Index amongst 50 global institutions. The university has also won 15 awards at various international competitions and has been invited to train educators of Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) in Singapore and its neighbouring countries, including Brunei, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, on using the case method in classrooms. Since 2023, The Case Centre has received 31 new cases for distribution from SMU authors. In total, the SMU collection available through The Case Centre numbers 542 cases, many with accompanying instructor materials, software and videos. 15 of those are prize-winning cases. |
