China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) was co-founded by the Chinese government and European Union (EU) in 1994, with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the EFMD serving as its executive partners. CEIBS has campuses in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Zurich in Switzerland, and Accra in Ghana. As China’s only business school to originate from government-level collaboration, CEIBS is committed to educating responsible leaders versed in ‘China Depth, Global Breadth’ in line with its motto of ‘Conscientiousness, Innovation and Excellence’. Leaders from the Chinese central government and the EU, respectively, have lauded CEIBS as “a cradle of excellent executives” and “a role model of EU-China co-operation”. CEIBS devotes considerable resources to case teaching and development. The result is the creation of a body of intellectual capital that has established the school as a center of knowledge regarding management practices in the Chinese context. Established in 2001, CEIBS Case Center is committed to becoming a global hub for China-specific managerial issues while promoting the case method in China. This collection of cases reflects the business environment, current business practices, and corporate culture in China and beyond. CEIBS cases cover most management issues, including entrepreneurship, ethics and social responsibility, finance and accounting, marketing, OBHR, operations, and strategy. They also pay special attention to China’s fast-moving business environment, seeking to document the innovative practices emerging in the country. Since 2023, The Case Centre has received 25 new cases for distribution from CEIBS authors. In total the collection available through The Case Centre numbers 538 cases, many with accompanying instructor materials, software and videos. 52 of those are prize-winning cases. |

“Since its inception 30 years ago, CEIBS has emphasised case development and teaching, integral to its high-quality educational practices.
“Over time, CEIBS has transitioned from using Western case studies to creating its own localised cases. These cases are tailored to China’s business environment, focusing on specific issues and decision-making scenarios unique to the Chinese context.
“Through the distribution channels of five leading global case libraries, CEIBS cases have been adopted by over 1,100 schools in more than 80 countries and regions. Despite these achievements, CEIBS remains committed to developing China-themed cases to amplify the country's voice on the global stage.”
