The University of St.Gallen (HSG) is the university of the Canton of St.Gallen and Switzerland’s business university. Internationality, practical relevance and an integrative view have characterised education at HSG ever since its establishment in 1898. Today, the University educates more than 9,000 students from approximately 90 countries in Business Administration, Economics, Law and Social Sciences, International Affairs and Computer Science. As a leading business university, HSG set global standards for research and teaching by promoting integrative thought, responsible action and an entrepreneurial spirit of innovation in business and society. At HSG traditional teaching in the classroom is complemented by learning through case studies. Furthermore, HSG wants to promote case writing in order to generate high quality cases to be used throughout its own programmes, in particular as key cases within a specific course. The first case for The Case Centre case collection was written in 2000. HSG also offers a number of free cases. In total the HSG collection available through The Case Centre numbers 168 cases, many with accompanying instructor materials, software and videos. Seven of those are prize-winning cases. |

" For over 10 years, our Tesla case has been taught, studied, and discussed in many classrooms around the world. In 2017 Tesla Motors: Business Model Configuration was the overall winner at The Case Centre Awards and Competitions, and in 2020 its update, Tesla Motors Business Model Configuration; Case Study Update; from Tesla Motors to Tesla, won the free case category. This has given our research on business models an enormous international reach that we would never have achieved on our own."
