Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon aims to be a globally recognized management school through academic excellence and continuous innovation to nurture responsible leaders for creating sustainable alternatives. MDI Gurgaon faculty combines scholarship, experience, and innovative pedagogy to bring best-in-class learning both in the classroom and out of it. The faculty carries out cutting edge research and regularly publishes in peer-reviewed international journals. As a consequence, the Institute’s students are able to get a rich mix of state-of-the-art academic research as well as best practices from industry. The Teaching and Learning Centre at MDI (TLC@MDI) recognises that faculty is the key resource for driving excellence in management both in terms of a student’s learning in the classroom as well as applications in practice. The nature of management education demands an active learning style for which student engagement is critical. The spectrum of activities used in active learning engages students in a higher-order thinking task (e.g. analysis, synthesis, evaluation, reflection) which in turn helps the students to achieve more in the learning outcomes. Thus, the nature of learning becomes experiential which is more effective in practice. One of the Centre’s activities is to facilitate case writing and publication. Since 2023, The Case Centre has received 18 new cases for distribution from MDI Gurgaon authors. In total the collection available through The Case Centre numbers 257 cases, many with accompanying instructor materials, software and videos. One of those is a prize-winning case. |
