The Case Centre Impact Index is an annual ranking of organisations based on the global reach and impact of their case writing.
Celebrating case impact for a second year
The Case Centre is proud to announce its Impact Index for 2023/24. Now in its second year, the Impact Index continues to highlight the immense global influence of the case method.
It is perhaps fitting that, as the home of the very first case in 1921, Harvard Business School retains its position as the school with the most reach. While ICFAI Business School (IBS) and INSEAD remain in second and third places respectively.
But the landscape is evolving as more schools worldwide are making significant contributions to the case method.
This year, seven new schools have joined the ranks of schools with the most impact: Stanford University School of Engineering; Cranfield University School of Management; Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics, University of Delaware; EDHEC Business School; Asian Institute of Management; and the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). While special mention goes to MIT Sloan School of Management, whizzing up the rankings as the highest new entry at number 10.
452 schools qualified for a place in the Impact Index by having cases written by their faculty actively used in teaching worldwide, making a position in the top 50 a significant marker of impact.
Vicky Lester, Chief Executive Officer of The Case Centre commented on this year’s list:
“The Case Centre is delighted to announce the Impact Index for 2023/24. With so many new schools joining the Index, building on the work of those with established influence, it’s fantastic to celebrate these tremendous contributions to the business education community.
"The Index is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate those schools demonstrating their commitment to high quality case writing. Writing that is educational, engaging, and influential to students and teachers globally.”
