Abstract

This video is to accompany the case. It describes how in December 2004, Julie Gilbert, vice president and leader of the high-end male consumer business group at Best Buy had a vision and decided to launch WOLF, the Women's Leadership Forum. WOLF@Best Buy became a network of thousands of employees and consumers working with individuals, brands, partners, stores and communities to help Best Buy build strong woman leaders and capture a greater share of the female consumer electronics market. The 48-minute video consists of two parts: The first part shows Julie interacting with participants in a class setting filmed in 2009; the second part shows highlights of the WOLF annual conferences held from 2005 to 2008. The sections cover: Taking risks, Vision for WOLF, WOLF business case, Cultural change, Alpha wolves, Give back, WOLF outside of Best Buy, Leadership challenge.
