Abstract

This industry note describes the temporary work service industry in Europe. It deals with the service concept, its practical implantation, the state of the industry in the different EC countries, the legislative context and the differences therein across Europe and gives a company profile of the most important multinationals present in the industry. The note can serve as a basis for a structural analysis of the industry, identification of economies of scale, scope and internationalization, and a discussion of the strategic options for an industry player.
