Abstract
EDS, the leader in the information technology outsourcing industry, is facing substantial technological change and increasing competition (from IBM, Andersen Consulting and others). The issue is how EDS' strategy should respond to these changes. To provide the basis for that discussion the case provides material for an analysis of the market for information technology outsourcing and how EDS has achieved their current position in that market. Can be used for industry and competitor analysis, strategy identification and evaluation, and strategic behavior by a market leader.
