This case attempts to scrutinize the Islamabad master plan and the process of its implementation. Firstly, the paper endeavors to identify the underlying causes which stimulated the need of a new capital. Then, it tries to unravel the fissures and errors made initially by the company, C A Doxiadis, and finally by the CDA (Capital Development Authority) while implementing the plan. It is maintained that the actual plan was not implemented in its true spirit, which gave birth to immeasurable problems including socio-economic and environmental ones. It unravels the fissures made by the administration and resulting repercussions which opened the Pandora's Box.
