Abstract
The case deals with the question how to scale up the social micro-credit programme of the Compagnia di San Paolo. Six years after its launch, the social micro-credit programme seems to be standing at a turning point: The foundation has started something that works, but that is still too small for significant impact. Thus the question concerning an up-scale of the programme arises. During the annual meeting all programme partners input needs to be gathered as the programme is facing a threefold challenge: Geographical expansion, organizational set-up and achieving better performance. All these points, which are closely connected with the 'scalability issue', are debated in the narrative and may give hints to the student in order to properly optimize her/his insights on the case.
