Abstract
This supplement is to accompany the case. Dan Moss chronicles the protagonist’s roll-out of a new organizational structure for Club Sports International’s (CSI’s) six athletic clubs in Denver, CO. By late 1997, CSI had grown into the largest privately owned chain of upscale clubs in the United States – forty-eight clubs. Unfortunately by 1997 the Denver region was faltering and Moss could devote little time to the clubs. After months of planning, on Thursday, August 28, 1997, Moss wrestled with how to roll-out a new regional structure. Moss had scheduled a meeting for the following Monday with all the GMs, Membership Directors and Staley to roll-out it out and introduce Gordon. Moss wondered how he would manage the meeting. This supplement is part of the Stanford Graduate School of Business free case collection (visit www.thecasecentre.org/stanfordfreecases for more information on the collection).
