Abstract

Several uncertain quantities that affect the desirability of the Cyberlab proposal to Precision Instruments are described, with their probability distributions. Students are expected to select a few possible scenarios randomly using these distributions, as an introduction to Monte Carlo simulations. A larger collection of trials is used in class to estimate the mean and approximate distribution of NPV for the proposal. See also the (A) case (UVA-QA-0382).
