Abstract
This is the second of a four-case series (IMD-3-1241 to IMD-3-1244). The (B) case explores the vision and strategy of the new CEO (Chief Executive Officer), Goran Lindahl. His vision was to transform ABB from an engineering-based to a knowledge-based company. To accomplish this, Lindahl wrought sweeping changes at ABB. Was this the right shift for ABB? Were the changes effective in realising this new vision for ABB? A video ''The ABB Eras'' (IMD-3-1241-V) is available to accompany the case series.
