Abstract

This DVD is to accompany the case. VW created excellence along the business system and this video introduces the Autostadt theme park in Wolfsburg and the transparent factory in Dresden. Autostadt is VW's 420 million Euro theme park located next to the main factory in Wolfsburg. It plays a key role in reaching end customers and upgrading the region. The video gives a good overview of the size, the style and the level of attention the company put into the venture. The second part shows the innovative transparent factory in Dresden, which challenges many assumptions in the automotive industry. The plant is located in the city centre of Dresden and customers are encouraged to follow the final assembly of their car. The factory itself has glass walls, hardwood floors and is set up as an event centre.
