Abstract

This is the third of a four-case series (IMD-3-0956 to IMD-3-0958 and IMD-3-0976). The case series describes the efforts of an entrepreneur, Robert Keane, to develop and present a business plan for his project, Papyrus Laser, and the interaction with investors. Papyrus Laser is primarily a catalogue marketer of specialised stationery and related products that enable customers to use their own PC and laser or ink-jet printer to economically produce high quality printed communications in small quantities - even one copy. Papyrus Laser focuses on the French market, with future expansion to other European markets anticipated. Case (B-2) is the epilogue to case (B), in which Robert presented his revised business plan to potential investors. Due to exogenous factors, the project is again on the rocks and the entrepreneur needs to decide what to do next.
