Abstract

This video is to accompany the case. To satisfy customers' increasing demand for better services, Siam City Cement aspires to become a pioneer in e-business to offer them convenient and quick on-line purchase and payment facilities as well as easily accessible accounting and delivery information. However, the cement industry in the emerging Southeast Asian markets is widely recognised as low-tech. The video shows how Siam City Cement successfully launched the on-line distribution channel 'webSALES' only four months after the project kick-off, by building Information Technology infrastructure, establishing information processes for enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management, and training and encouraging employees and customers to adopt the new information technology.
