Abstract

This video is to accompany the San Patrignano Community case series. The video helps the viewer discover Italy's San Patrignano, one of the world's most remarkable communities, which for the past twenty years has continued to 'make marginalised individuals achieve extraordinary results.' The way in which this community is run holds potentially radical implications for a company's organizational purpose, working structure and its management of people. Working without any government support, and without subscribing to any of the established international medical methods for drug recovery, this Community - founded by Vincenzo Muccioli, an unassuming Italian without any professional or medical training in drug recovery-- nevertheless achieves the world's highest drug recovery rates. The way in which they achieve this is both unprecedented and perhaps counterintuitive. The Community gets its members to work as part of its recovery program, but striving for world-class excellence in whatever they set out to do. The video gives an inside view of how this Community works with the so called 'derelicts of society', leading them to achieve extraordinary performance results in less than three years on average.
