Abstract

This is the third of a three-case series (IMD-3-1004 to IMD-3-1006). The (C) case wraps the series up. It starts with the conclusion of the Mandator deal and the appointment of Niklas Flyborg as chief executive officer. Parts of Cell Network are sold off, generating important amounts of cash. Shortly thereafter, Marcus Backlund leaves Cell and Jan Carlzon steps down as chairman of the board. Almost simultaneously, the share price collapses. The case ends with the challenges Cell faces in a dramatically different business environment. A video 'IMD-3-1004-V' is available to accompany the case series.
