Abstract
This case charts the development of Skandia''s ''future centers'', an organisational process the company developed to improve its long term sustainability. By creating ''future teams'' that included employees from different generations, divisions, and geographic regions of the company, Skandia sought to improve its ability to adapt to, hedge and shape the future. Future team members were connected using IT (information technology) systems, but teams would periodically meet at Skandia''s specially designed ''heart office'' just outside Stockholm. Skandia Future Centers is the latest step in enhancing the company''s intellectual capital business navigator.
