The case is a critical instance, in which specific incidents and their ramifications are depicted. The case is based on a real life situation faced by a 16 year old concern, which has its operations in 4 different states within countries. The case deals with the establishment of a new plant, the business environment, the entrepreneur’s decision and (more or less) government interference. This time the Chairmen has a dilemma to take a decision related to the success of the organisation. All of the board members had given their report and suggestions to the top manager to take a hard decision about their newly established plant. He was already aware of the passiveness of the system but his hands were tied. Now the challenge thrown upon him by the political factors was a real opportunity. The information shared by the heads of the different departments indicated the actual condition of the plant. The ball is in the hands of Mr AK Jain and he has to take action if he wants to improve the current situation.
