Abstract

The case presents a situation where a prospective employer company comes for a campus placement at one of the vocational training institutes in India that was within the Government's vocational training framework. The protagonist Mr Grover had earlier had a bad experience in recruiting from ITIs where the workmen lacked both skills and knowledge. But ten years had passed and he made it known that the syllabus and pedagogy had been revamped with improvement in the skilled graduates. As the managing Director of a fast growing firm, exporting to developed nations and with constant reinforcement from his well educated son for hiring the best trained skills Mr Grover once again agreed to go for campus placement at ITI. The outcome was still the same as ten years ago but with an air of arrogance as the case describes.
