Within 2.5 years of establishment The Maids’ Company it was a known company in Gurgaon India. The word of mouth quickly spread to the adjacent National Capital Region and created value. After understanding the need for trained domestic helpers and also the plight of the working women in the unorganised sector of the domestic help, the founder Gauri Singh created the enterprise which would deliver value on both ends, ie to the people in search of the domestic helps and also to the working women who are often exploited economically and physically. With the limited resources and huge challenges, the company had dilemma that should it move ahead as a placement agency or as a service provider, how to retain the trained maids from the poaching done by the outsiders, how the business model be expanded to larger market and how to reduce the operational losses. The domestic help segment being totally unorganised and with tremendous scope is huge opportunity for the company.
