Abstract
Vivek Prabhakar and Shubhra Chadda, a young couple based in Bangalore, India, launched a startup named ‘Chumbak’ in 2010. The startup which began manufacturing fridge magnets soon diversified and offered a large variety of lifestyle products. Chumbak stepped the success stones quickly as the demand for their contemporary India-inspired products grew steadily among young Indians. The couple had chartered expansion plans for Chumbak - increasing the distribution on the online and offline front and spreading their wings abroad. But, experts claimed that this expansion would face challenges across all verticals of business. With hurdles in its path, experts were skeptical if Chumbak would achieve the desired success in its expansion plans.
