Abstract
Dana Melosto, Chief Gifting Officer and Founder of Payforapresent.com (PFP), an on-line wedding registry, is considering which of three potential alternatives routes should she pursue in order to expand her business. Should she try to expand abroad, with a similar wedding-registry website? And if so, should she try first Mexico, or Spain? Or, should she try to enter the crowd-funding business? The decision must be taken now, and (because of the lack of money, workforce, and resources in general) the three options are mutually exclusive. Dana should consider what are the consumer needs for each of those alternative expansion routes, and whether her current business model can satisfy them. In addition, she would have to make sure not to alienate existing users of Payforapresent.com.
