Abstract
A man of impeccable character, invincible spirit, indepth knowledge and firm conviction, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's (Kalam) sudden demise was an irreparable loss to the nation and the world. His contributions to humanity were beyond imagination. Beginning from a humble background, Kalam went on to become the missile man of India and then the President of India. It was his initiative, knowledge, inspiration and supervision that helped in making India a nuclear super power. He had three visions for the country - freedom, development and strength. Kalam believed, India had to achieve self-reliance and confidence in order to become a developed nation. He encouraged young minds to be creative, innovative and to pursue their dreams wholeheartedly. His contributions to the field of education, medicine and technology were immense. To everybody's shock and grief, Kalam breathed his last doing something he loved - spending time among students. Apart from highlighting Kalam's journey, the case study will help in analysing whether the country succeeds in fulfilling Dr Kalam's vision for a brighter and better India in the coming years.
