A slight assistance by someone can sometimes change the whole progression of one's life. Ayub Khan, or Master Ayub as he is renowned by all of his students, learnt this lesson at an early age when he was supported by a family friend while floundering to provide for his family. He inverted the gesture years later by setting up a free school for the children of Islamabad who were in straightened circumstances, who just like him were in need of a helping hand. Every morning, children ranging from six years to 16 years of age, carry A-stands, blackboards and half a dozen garden chairs and go to their assigned space and place their bags and notebooks on the cemented floor. Rows are formed regularly and the students wait to start the day with the national anthem like every other normal school. After fulfilling their morning responsibilities, these children gather in this park every evening to study, to get education.
