Abstract

In the last few years in India, the taxi aggregator services have become quite popular. The companies who manage and cater to the on demand cab facilities through phone based applications are among the top funded start-ups of India. However, these apps despite serving the needs of the customers come across various complaints on a daily basis from the driver’s behavior to the surge pricing at the peak hours. This case study highlights such issues faced by the users of app based taxi services such as Ola and Uber while booking, travelling and while paying the driver after the ride has completed. It also discusses the outcome and actions taken by the app based taxi companies so as to resolve those issues. The case study also discusses the strategies undertaken by these app based taxi aggregators to have a competitive edge over others.
